iPhone 16 Battery Sizes Revealed: What’s New and Improved?
Apple typically keeps the exact battery capacities of its iPhones under wraps, leaving us to rely on external sources like regulatory certifications and teardowns to uncover these details. The same applies to the newly launched iPhone 16 lineup. However, we now have the precise battery specs, thanks to Brazil’s regulatory agency, Anatel.
Here’s the breakdown: the iPhone 16 packs a 3,561 mAh battery, reflecting a 6.3% increase over its predecessor. The iPhone 16 Plus comes with a 4,674 mAh battery, marking a 6.6% boost. The iPhone 16 Pro steps up with a 3,582 mAh battery, a 9.4% improvement compared to the iPhone 15 Pro, making it the standout in terms of capacity growth. Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro Max houses a 4,685 mAh battery, up by 5.5% from the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Although the iPhone 16 Pro takes the lead in capacity gain, all models benefit from Apple’s new A18 and A18 Pro chips, combined with enhanced thermal design. These upgrades provide longer battery life compared to last year’s models, even if the capacity increases seem modest.
Additionally, all iPhone 16 models support the new 25W MagSafe charging, as long as you pair them with Apple’s latest MagSafe charger and a 30W power adapter. For those using USB-C, the devices can charge at speeds up to 45W, offering faster charging options across the board.
The iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max are now officially available worldwide.
