iPhone 15 Pro’s 3 nm Bionic A17 chipset to feature with 6 GB RAM

Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro series to feature 6 GB RAM and 3 nm A17 Bionic chip Apple fans are eagerly awaiting the launch of the iPhone 15 series, which is expected to happen next month. While the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 mini will likely have minor upgrades over their predecessors, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are rumored to pack some impressive specs, including a new 3 nm A17 Bionic chipset and 6 GB of LPDDR5 RAM.

According to a reliable tipster on Reddit, who goes by the name @Uredditor, the A17 Bionic chip will be manufactured by TSMC using the advanced 3 nm FinFET process, which will offer improved performance and efficiency over the current 5 nm A14 Bionic chip. The A17 Bionic chip will have six CPU cores, with two high-performance cores clocked at up to 3.7 GHz and four power-efficient cores clocked at up to 2.5 GHz. The chip will also have six GPU cores, which will deliver enhanced graphics and gaming capabilities.

The tipster also claims that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will come with 6 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, which will be supplied by either Micron or Samsung. This will be a significant upgrade over the 4 GB of LPDDR4X RAM that the iPhone 12 Pro series has. The increased RAM will allow for better multitasking and smoother user experience on the new iPhones.

Another interesting detail that the tipster revealed is that Apple will use the same A17 Bionic chip for both this year’s and next year’s Pro models. The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, which are expected to launch in 2024, will also have the same chip with model number t8130. However, the iPhone 17 Pro series, which will launch in 2025, will have a different chip with model number t8140, which will be the A18 platform.

The tipster has previously proven their credibility by confirming the USB-C cable connector leak that was reported by MacRumors. The new iPhones will finally adopt the universal charging port, but with different speeds. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 mini will have USB 2.0 ports, while the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will have faster USB 3.2 ports.

The iPhone 15 series is expected to be unveiled in September, along with other Apple products such as the Apple Watch Series 7 and the AirPods 3. Stay tuned for more updates on the upcoming iPhones and other Apple news.
